Cellulite Reduction
Cavi-Lipo
What is Cavi-Lipo?
Cavi-Lipo is currently the safest and the most effective system for the treatment of adipose areas and cellulite. It is a non-surgical procedure which utilizes ultrasound to dissolve cellulite and reduce localized fat on the stomach, hips, arms, legs and buttocks. It also disassembles fat and helps waste discharge out of the body. Compared to getting liposuction done surgically in a hospital, Cavi-Lipo is affordable, painless, and just as effective.
Cavi-Lipo is not a weight loss program but rather a way of ‘losing inches’ in the desired area and getting rid of cellulite.
What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is deposits of fat right under the skin. It makes the skin look dimply and almost like cottage cheese or an orange peel. It is believed that toxin accumulation can also play a role in developing cellulite.
Before & After
Quick treatment and no down time
Technology
The Cavi-Lipo system is a new technique that uses ultrasound cavitation to completely breakdown and destroy fat cells. Unlike Liposuction, Cavi-Lipo is non-surgical. The process delivers pulsating ultrasonic sound waves via a hand-held device across the skin surface to targeted, unwanted fat tissue. Ultrasonic sound waves focus their energy in the subcutaneous fat, hitting the fat cells under the skin causing the cell membrane to vibrate and break down. Once the fat cells are broken down, they are transported out of the body through the lymphatic system. The destroyed fat cells will be released from the body naturally.
No Down Time
The treatment using Cavi-Lipo does not require anaesthesia and is non-invasive. There is no discomfort after the treatment. Once the session is over, you can immediately resume your daily routine. There is no recuperation period required. Some redness may be noticed on the treated area for a very short time immediately after treatment but this will disappear within an hour or so.
Cavitation
To explain cavitation, one needs to understand the fat cell. Put simply, every cell has a shell called the diaphragm. The fat cell is filled with liquid which is mainly composed of fatty acids and glucose. It takes Cavi-Lipo about 100 seconds to get the vacuum bubble to become so hot that it blows fat cell’s outer covering, or in other words destroy the fat cell completely.
The ultrasonic waves are effective down to 15 mm below the skin, where they can dissolve the fat cells, while other types of cells – for example, skin and blood vessels – are only affected by increasing circulation.
Treatment
Treatment may occur at any point where there is fat and cellulite. On average, treatments last about 30 minutes. All fat types can be treated apart from the inner fettlagerna, which is inside the thick muscle layer. These are not affected by treatment and can only be reduced through proper diet and exercise.
The treated area becomes warmer as a result of the increased blood circulation and is a proof that the treatment is working. The ultrasound causes the fat cells to vibrate. The vibrations propagate through the fluid in the body creating a buzzing sound in the ear called an undertone which stops as soon as the probe loses contact with the fat.
For best results, you should drink plenty of water along with proper exercise and diet.
Frequently asked questions
How is Cavi-Lipo different from other ‘non-invasive’ technologies?
Cavi-Lipo uses ultrasonic sound wave cavitation technology to breakdown and destroy fat cells. It is also approved by the FDA as a safe and effective way to treat problematic cellulite.
How is Cavi-Lipo different from Liposuction?
Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes entire areas of fat cells beneath the skin using a stainless steel tube and vacuum. When you receive liposuction, some form a general sedation or local anesthesia must be used.
Cavi-Lipo is 100% non-invasive and pain free. There is no need for anesthesia or sedation and there is no recovery or down time required.
What can I expect during a treatment?
Your Cavi-Lipo treatment will take approximately 30-45 minutes. Think of it as a massage and a time for you to relax. It is absolutely painless. You may experience a mild heat sensation similar to a hot stone massage and a vibration when the sound waves hit the fat cells. You will also hear the ringing of the ultrasonic sound waves. During your session, your technician will use a hand piece and firmly glide it over the treatment area. Once your treatment is finished, you may resume all of your normal daily activities with no downtime, pain, swelling or discomfort.
Who cannot receive Cavi-Lipo?
If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, Cavi-Lipo should not be used. Additionally, if you have a pacemaker, this treatment is not for you. Cavi-Lipo may not be as effective on patients with diabetes or thyroid disorders where the metabolic system is potentially impaired. Consult your doctor if you have questions or concerns.
When will I see results?
This will depend on your metabolism and lifestyle. Some people see results after their first treatment. Most people see significant results after 4-6 treatments. It is difficult to determine how quickly the body will respond. We do recommend a series of 6-10 treatments for the most significant results. Results will also require following these recommendations:
- Drink plenty of water the day before each session and continue for 3 to 7 days after the session.
- Limit carbohydrate intake the day before the session and 3 to 7 days after the session.
- Exercise regularly before and after the session to assist the body in eliminating the waste material through perspiration.
How long does Cavi-Lipo last?
Cavi-Lipo will last as long as you make it last. With healthy eating habits and exercise you can have long term results. Cavi-Lipo is especially successful in two types of people: those who already have a healthy lifestyle and want to remove localized fat pockets, and those who want to use Cavi-Lipo as the ’kick-start’ to a healthier way of living.
Is Cavi-Lipo expensive?
Considering some of the alternatives, it is quite affordable. A series of 6-10 Cavi-Lipo treatments can cost about 1/4 less the amount of what surgical liposuction will cost at a plastic surgeon.
Will my insurance pay for Cavi-Lipo treatments?
No. Cavi-Lipo is considered a cosmetic, elective procedure and will not be covered by any health insurance.
